Who Am I

I’m 24 and currently studying Media Economics and Journalism at Jade University of Applied Sciences in Wilhelmshaven. I moved here from Iraq in 2015. In my free time I like being outside, taking photos, writing, sometimes literary texts, sometimes short scripts and spending time with friends. I’m into history, philosophy, literature, art and film. I also play football and chess. In my work I care about structure, rhythm and simplicity. This portfolio shows selected projects from university, internships and freelance jobs.

What I do

Corporate Design

I create visual identities for both study projects and real clients. This includes logo development, colour concepts, typography and layout systems. In some cases I have produced full corporate design manuals and applied the design to websites and print materials. I usually work with the  Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and WordPress.

Print Design

I design flyers, posters and brochures for study projects and clients. Some were printed and used, others remained as digital concepts. I work with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Figma. My focus lies in layout, image selection and adapting content to visual formats.

Web Design

I design websites as both screen concepts and finished builds. My work includes layout design in Figma and content implementation in WordPress. While navigation planning and responsive design are areas I’m still exploring, I focus on clear visual structure and a practical design process.

Photography

I take photos mostly in nature or capture everyday moments, using both smartphone and camera.
My images are often shared on Instagram or used privately. Occasionally they support design projects. I explore natural light, black-and-white contrast and still-life objects.

nautimo

This project was part of my internship at Kopf & Hand, a design and advertising agency based in Wilhelmshaven. Together with a colleague and the creative director, I worked on the visual concept for the new website of Nautimo, a public swimming and wellness center in the region.

Blende Eins

This poster series was created during my internship at Kopf & Hand for the short film festival  Blende Eins. The posters were intended as visual gifts to be handed out at the regional short film award ceremony. The only requirement was to base the designs on places and motifs from Wilhelmshaven.

Fewohn.com

Fewohn.com is a family-run business that rents out furnished apartments to working professionals in the region. I was commissioned to update their visual identity, including a new logo, business stationery and supporting elements for their website.
